June 21, 2010 Microsoft has posted on a web resource "Connect" designed for the for the beta testing and partner compa-nies officially became the first beta (Beta 1) version of the first package (sp1) updates to the client operating system, Windows 7 and Windows Server Windows Server platform 2008 R2.

Changes to Windows 7 SP1

Further support by the Federal Service
In Windows 7 added additional support for interoperability with third-party federation service (those that support the protocol WS-Federation). This change is intended to increase the interoperability of platforms and improve the interoperability of information on identification and authentication between the various organizations

Next:

Improved performance audio devices that run through HDMI
A small number of users of the new OS reports about problems in the connection between computers running Windows 7 with audio devices connected via HDMI - when you restart the device is not determined by the system. The structure of SP1 updates are included to ensure the reliability of the connection of computers with Windows 7 and audio devices that are connected with HDMI.

Corrections in the algorithm XPS-print documents with pages of different orientation
Some users have reported difficulties in printing XPS-documents with mixed orientation (in portrait and landscape modes) through the XPS Viewer. This problem led to the fact that all pages were printed either in portrait or landscape mode. In SP1 the problem is resolved.

Changes common to client and server platform

More efficient energy
SP1 adds a feature that allows you to use an immutable Counter Time Stamp Counter (TSC) in user mode. With workloads, such as, SQL Server, unchangeable-TSC provides multimedia timer high resolution (required for functions such as OLTP, Data Warehouse Processing, etc.) with higher energy efficiency than previously available alternatives.

Changes in the behavior of the function "Restore previous folders at logon"
In SP1 changed the behavior of the "Restore Folder View after the restart, accessible through the Properties dialog folder. Before SP1 folder restored cascade depending on the position of folders, which was active until logout. In SP1 this behavior was changed so, for that would be all the folders were restored to their previous position.

Improved support for additional permits in RRAS and IPsec
The golf Identification in the IKEv2 authentication protocol added new types of identification. This change adds an additional form of identification (eg, E-mail ID or Certificate Subject) authentication protocol IKEv2.

This, of course, not all changes and fixes that will bring Windows 7 SP1.
